Not a party. Not a girl. PARTYGIRL is a multi-disciplinary Canadian-South African (Afrikaans) automatist. Known for their evocative and often erotic exploration of social unmasking, the hidden self, grief, and the sensory body. In 2024 they self-produced and released their first full-length album titled BOKKIE. That same year they held their first solo exhibition for a series of automatic ink drawings with an accompanying zine-style memoir titled Not The Death I Was Expecting. Which explored the grief and liberation of a devastating nerve condition which left them bed-ridden and semi-lucid for long periods.
In April 2025 they hosted their first solo show titled COME BREAK UP WITH PARTYGIRL. An immersive audio-visual live performance using wireless silent disco headphones, based on their album BOKKIE and surprise audio-erotic post-break-up EP Sonic Orgasm.
They have performed as part of The NXT LVL Emerging Music Festival and Debaser’s Pique.
They are also the Founder and Creative Director of Inside Voice.
